The University of Iceland Network is a collaboration platform between students and the University of Iceland on the one hand, and the business community and institutions on the other, and was established in 2017 to help the University of Iceland strengthen its ties with society and the business community.
As the name suggests, the UI Careers Connections allows these parties to form connections and find areas for collaboration based on job opportunities, specific projects, and career development opportunities.
UI Careers Connections is a tool designed to enhance the employability of UI students while fostering dialogue between them and the business community.
In the HI 26 policy , entitled "A Better University - a Better Society", Tengslatorg is given increased importance in the school's priorities. There is an emphasis on collaboration across the school's units and on fruitful dialogue and collaboration with society, business and universities around the world.
The underlying goal is to promote access to lifelong learning and emphasise students' ability to handle diverse jobs and challenges in a dynamic and technologically advanced world.
Jónína Ó. Kárdal, a study and career counselor, has led the development of Tengslatorg from the beginning.

The project manager is Jónína Ó. Kárdal, academic and career counselor at the University of Iceland's Student Counseling Service .
Internships
The University of Iceland is significantly strengthening collaboration with the business community and the labor market by offering vocational training in undergraduate and graduate studies.
Internships bridge the gap between students and companies or institutions, with mutual benefit for all parties as the guiding principle. It also provides the business community with an opportunity to enrich its operations while actively contributing to shaping the country’s future workforce.
